American Cinematheque is listing Bela Tarr’s first film, Family Nest, as a Janus license. I haven’t seen it in over a decade, but remember enjoying it quite a bit.
I could see this being added as an extra to a future release of Werckmeister Harmonies.

An Early Films of Béla Tarr box set similar to Haneke's would be nice. His first two films were bundled with Damnation for a Blu-ray release in Japan and from the screenshots I've seen in backchannels the restorations look great.

Janus is also credited as the licensor to Béla Tarr's THE MAN FROM LONDON.

If Janus/Criterion are able to get their hands on The Turin Horse, maybe we could get a Final Works of Béla Tarr set? Which would honestly be more fitting for the director, given the themes present in his films

I saw the restoration at NYFF, on the eve of the Brazilian election as well. As long as it gets a good encoding, it should look great on a Blu-ray but regardless the DCP looks great.

Janus Films posted a memorial to Kenneth Anger on their Instagram. Here's hoping they'll acquire his catalog of films for restoration and future Criterion release.

Not really likely considering one of those titles is with Yellow Veil Pictures in their Lux Aeterna release so most likely the titles would be with them instead, or maybe it's a one time deal. Either way, doesn't look like Criterion/Janus will release them and that it was purely a tribute.

FWIW, I thought the BFI had a good Blu-ray set. Should still be in-print.

Janus will be hosting a Eustache retrospective under the title "The Dirty Stories of Jean Eustache". It will begin touring at the Lincoln Center next month and then tour in select North American cities after.

Janus also has the rights to the 2K restoration of Bela Tarr's The Outsiders. It will be showing at the Lincoln Center on June 13 with an intro from Tarr himself.
