Looks like Ed Wood's Take It Out in Trade will be released on Blu-ray (maybe DVD?) in November.

Take It Out In Trade Blu-ray/DVD combo details:

Image

About the film
Ed Wood was the filmmaker behind PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE, the author of hundreds of adult novels, and a pall-bearer at Bela Lugosi's funeral. Wood fought in the Pacific Ocean theater during World War II while wearing a bra and panties under his uniform. Basically, there will never be another hero like Ed Wood. And there will never be another movie like TAKE IT OUT IN TRADE. Unseen for almost fifty years, this is a surreal sexploitation detective comedy that would feel right at home on a triple-bill with John Waters's MULTIPLE MANIACS and Russ Meyer's THE IMMORAL MR. TEAS. With delirious narration by Wood himself, positive depictions of LGBTQ relationships, and a miraculous role by Ed Wood in drag as "Alecia," TAKE IT OUT IN TRADE is a joyous swan song from one of the most seminal exploitation filmmakers of all time.
About the features
New 2K preservation from the only 16mm theatrical print in existence!
Commentary track with filmmaker Frank Henenlotter (BASKET CASE), Ed Wood biographer Rudolph Grey, and AGFA’s Joseph A. Ziemba!
TAKE IT OUT IN TRADE: THE OUTTAKES, 70 minutes of unseen footage scanned in 2K!
Exclusive liner notes by Ed Wood biographer Rudolph Grey!
Bonus movie: THE LOVE FEAST (1969) starring Ed Wood, scanned in 2K from an original 35mm theatrical print!
Reversible cover art!
Street date is November 13th.

AGFA will be releasing Drug Stories!, an 80-minute compilation of anti-drug scare films, on Blu-ray in 2019; this includes Florrie Fisher's notorious PSA The Trip Back.

Edit: It looks like they've confirmed three other 2019 Blu-rays: Blood Lake, Mary Jane's Not a Virgin Anymore, and I Was a Teenage Serial Killer.

Here's some news that's certain to rouse the interest of this forum...
AGFA wrote:After a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2015, AGFA purchased a film scanner to create new digital transfers of titles from the Something Weird library. Take It Out in Trade is the fifth release of dozens in this partnership, following The Zodiac Killer, Bat Pussy, Ed Wood’s The Violent Years, and Godmonster of Indian Flats.
It's at a slower rate than expected, but the Something Weird films will all be released eventually.

Don't forget Fleshpot on 42nd Street, to which Guru the Mad Monk will probably be a bonus feature.

Wish the Milligan's just came in a big box so I don't have to individually repurchase them.

They will. AGFA usually includes a bonus movie in every release and Guru, the Mad Monk is likely to be it.

Has anyone listened to the "Bat Pussy" Blu-ray audio commentary, and does it reveal any detail on the making of the film, such as who directed/produced/wrote it, who starred in it, etc.? I've heard that the film's provenance is completely unknown.

Even with the 2K restoration they can offer little more factoids about the film's making other than pointing out that the Razorbacks tattoo on Buddy's buttock suggests the film was shot in Arkansas rather than Texas as was speculated before, and that Buddy and Sam may indeed be a real-life couple as one can see that both wear wedding bands. There is also some interesting speculation that the film might have been an attempt by a storefront theater owner to make his own product only for everything to go wrong (there's a speculative fiction movie in there somewhere) while also puzzling over just how this film go so much projection to be in its current state. Petrucci and Lewis discuss the Dragon Art Theater collection (which cribbed a filmed intro from Kentucky-based producer/theater manager Donn Davidson's storefront shows) on which BAT PUSSY made its VHS debut, the 1997 catalogue Blue Book supplement and its various essay contributors, and Vraney's acquisition of the 16mm film lot (excavated by punk musician Mike McCarthy) from an Ohio theater in which the film was found.
Doesn’t sound quite like what you’re after.

Thanks. I guess if you made such a bad film, you would want to go into hiding and ensure no one finds out who you are.

Fleshpot On 42nd Street and Guru, the Mad Monk are coming to Blu-ray/DVD in February 2019!

Image

Product description:
Andy Warhol never hired a young John Waters to make a sex-fueled soap opera for $50. But if he had, it would have felt like Fleshpot On 42nd Street. Dusty Cole (Laura Cannon) and Cherry Lane (Neil Flanagan, star of Guru, the Mad Monk) are streetwalkers with a mission: survival! After a potential hook-up goes bad, Dusty quits Cherry and the life and shacks up with new beau Bob. However, tragedy lurks around the corner. Filmed guerilla-style on Long Island by legendary DIY filmmaker Andy Milligan (The Ghastly Ones), Fleshpot On 42nd Street is a dreamy, psychotic melodrama that exists in a space-time continuum known only to itself.
Product features:
  • 4K preservation from Something Weird’s only 35mm theatrical print!
  • 42nd Street trailers from the AGFA + Something Weird vaults!
  • Liner notes by AGFA’s Alicia Coombs!
  • Bonus movie: Guru, the Mad Monk (1969), Andy Milligan’s horror opus preserved in 2K from an original 35mm theatrical print!
  • Reversible cover art!

AGFA has detailed their upcoming DVD release of Blood Lake. This marks their third collaboration with Bleeding Skull.

Image
Press release wrote:Blood Lake is the most fascinating -- and stupefying -- shot-on-video slasher that ever escaped from 1987. A group of unhinged party animals, including adolescent horn-dog Lil' Tony, embark on a weekend trip filled with Jet Skis, a keg of Busch, and an extended game of quarters. But look out! There's a supernatural killer on the loose who wears cowboy boots and a silk shirt with a rose stitched on it! Made by real-life friends from Oklahoma on a real-life vacation, Blood Lake is a rewardingly lethal collision of '80s slasher video-vomit and twisted cinéma vérité madness. From false metal soundtrack hits to gratuitous scenes of people sleeping, this might be the only movie in history capable of receiving a stamp of approval from both David Lee Roth and Andy Warhol.
No special features, if there are any, have been revealed yet.

Blood Lake is set to be released on 4/9/19.

(Plus, AGFA's release of Fleshpot on 42nd Street has been delayed due to an opportunity to add more features. Allegedly, Vinegar Syndrome has a longer print, although I can't confirm this claim.)

This may very well be the end of home video.

AGFA has detailed their first Blu-ray release of "Wakaliwood Supa Action" films. The set will include Who Killed Captain Alex? and Bad Black.

Image

Description:
Press release wrote:Welcome to Wakaliwood, Uganda: home of "DA BEST OF DA BEST MOVIES!" and the vanguards of DIY commando cinema! Under the guidance of writer-director-producer Nabwana Isaac Godfrey Geoffrey (IGG) and with producer-star Alan Ssali Hofmanis, this crack crew of self-taught filmmakers and martial arts aficionados produce dozens of gonzo action films in the Kampala ghetto with budgets that rarely exceed $200 USD. Utilizing scrap parts to build computers, machine guns, and a full-sized Huey helicopter, these real-life superheroes inspire more heart, imagination, and soul than a thousand Hollywood blockbusters. AGFA is proud to bring two of the most reckless, out-of-control brain-blasts in the Wakaliwood canon to home video for the first time ever -- Who Killed Captain Alex and Bad Black! And in Uganda's finest storytelling tradition, the films are complemented by the acerbic wit of narrator/VJ (Video Joker) VJ Emmie, who sums up the Wakaliwood experience with a single sentiment: "It is a love story... LOVE OF ACTION!" NOTE: These films were fueled by love and created with DIY equipment. Please approach the technical quality of the transfers with empathy.
Special features:
Press release wrote:
  • WHO KILLED CAPTAIN ALEX with or without VJ Emmie
  • BAD BLACK with VJ Emmie
  • Director's Commentary
  • Behind da scenes
  • Trailers and commercials
  • Interviews and news clips
  • Music videos
  • Welcome videos for 14 countries
  • Fan videos from around da world
  • Subtitles in 40 languages and dialects
This seems like a belated April Fools' joke. In other words, it's perfect.

Wakaliwood Supa Action Volume 1: Who Killed Captain Alex? + Bad Black is set to be released on May 14th.

Who Killed Captain Alex? is a masterpiece of the 'outsider action movie' genre, perfect for AGFA.

Vinegar Syndrome is now releasing Fleshpot on 42nd Street [NSFW cover art], which leaves the fate of the (still) delayed AGFA version up in the air. Guru, the Mad Monk is not included.

The fate of the AGFA version is no longer up in the air. On the Official Vinegar Syndrome Fan Group's Facebook thread for the March releases, Lee Jones stated AGFA cancelled their Fleshpot on 42nd Street release so VS decided to release it themselves.

That's unfortunate. I wonder why they cancelled it (assuming that Facebook link doesn't state why, since I cannot view it without an account).

I don't think it's mentioned why the AGFA release was cancelled. I seem to remember it was originally postponed by AGFA because a longer print was found, but it sounds like VS is using the longer print.

AGFA and VS have worked together in the past, maybe it was decided the film would sell better as a VS release? I believe it will have a limited print run of 2500 copies.

I'm confused about why their website has a long list of films that say they're available on Blu-ray, but none of these are listed for sale anywhere (other than the ten titles found under their "Home Video Catalog" link). Are the rest of the Blu-rays available for theatrical exhibition only or something?
