Remember that scene in E.T. where they literally fly right in front of the moon and cast a shadow on it?

Re: Worst DVD Covers...ever! (Part 4)
I think Spielberg added that in the Special Edition because George Lucas told him to.

This is why UHD is amazing, you can see all those details you never saw before.

I saw the standard blu rerelease they're putting out for ET and considered posting it too because it's also really bad. Still unrepentantly love the movie

Why would you apply an image filter to a cover?

It's clearly guy on the left since guy on the right is Burt Lancaster...

Give some chin hairs to Alex Guinness and then you have Leon Trotsky starring in The Bridge on the River Kwai.

Re: Worst DVD Covers...ever! (Part 4)
As soon as I read Derek Malcolm's review of A View to a Kill and clocked that the first paragraph ended with "What more could any Bond fan want?", I just knew that that phrase would end up prominently emblazoned over all the advertising - a prediction that proved to be entirely correct.bottled spider wrote:Off topic, but one of the cheekiest abuses of selective quotation I've seen is the blurb on the back of a recent translation of Madame Bovary:
It's a shame that the review went on to itemise what more a Bond fan could want, was entitled to expect, but didn't actually get.

Apparently this did well, as they've converted it to photo form:domino harvey wrote:

What, do they want to make their 4K Blus look like Twilight Time releases?

It is weirdly disconcerting that the gray used on the background is very close to the gray used here for the background of posts, though I guess I can appreciate how it doesn't make someone immediately shudder.

Making their UHD covers different than the regular Blu-rays is a good concept, even if it results in bad artwork.Mungo wrote:What, do they want to make their 4K Blus look like Twilight Time releases?

I didn't realize Gal Gadot licensed her likeness to an animated film.

I've never heard of this director or these movies before, but I'm going to be really disappointed now if all the posters for his films going forward don't use this photo somehow. (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau's name is misspelled, too!)

Well....he seems to have moved on to a whole new angle: I preferred his earlier work, it had a more insightful quality.
