Yeah, I know. And it's to be in the proper AR this time, which is encouraging.

Well aware, kiddo, especially since I'd include a few of them in my own top 10 albums that year. Just figured this was a tread dedicated to top 10 movies. Guess there aren't any hard and fast rules.

I think it was a joke at the time, but if these threads divurge from movies only I will explode

It's just Tom's protest at the utter lack of substantial films released in 2007, the worst year for movies ever.

I was just joking at the time. The thread had been bumped and people were re-posting in it like it was . . . well, 2007 again, so I was adding to the absurdity. Now that it has been revived again (and the threads from other years are being re-posted in, too) it just seems inexplicable.

Also, I will still heartily defend the notion that the first Justice album was good.

Well, since we're at it (and in case there will be a consensus list in the future) - alphabetically:

1. Diving Bell and the Butterfly (Julian Schnabel)
2. Don't Touch the Axe (Jacques Rivette)
3. Flight of the Red Balloon (Hou Hsiao-hsien)
4. 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days (Cristian Mungiu)
5. La France (Serge Bozon)
6. Lust, Caution (Ang Lee)
7. Secret Sunshine (Lee Chang-dong)
8. We Own the Night (James Gray)
9. Yella (Christian Petzold)
10. You the Living (Roy Andersson)

Bug and The Host would definitely be here but I count them as 2006.

Still in the kevyip: Mad Detective, Zodiac, Shotgun Stories, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, Nachmittag (Schanelec), Cristovao Colombo (Oliveira), Tout est pardonné (Hansen-Løve)

Surprised I didn't do this one, it was an exceptional year for English-language films, there was a ton that just missed the cut. My top eleven, all getting their first theatrical distribution in the U.S. in 2007, with the number one pick actually made in the '70s:

1. Killer of Sheep
2. There Will Be Blood
3. Syndromes and a Century
4. Colossal Youth
5. 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days
6. No Country for Old Men
7. Zodiac
8. I'm Not There
9. Black Book
10. Eastern Promises
11. Offside

As I've said before elsewhere, I consider the decade lists projects to produce much more meaningful results. We did the 2000s a few years ago and will be revisiting them again next year. The dynamic consensus lists thread is really just a stopgap to cover the most recent years while we wait to address them more properly.

Ahhh... did not know those existed. I'll work on that list, then... Thanks!
