I'll check out Holy Beast then, thanks for the recommendation. I suppose one problem for me is that there's so much Suzuki Norifumi work out there. As for the two Oshimas, they do have fine color cinematography, but it's a world apart from the invention on display in the later films. Even Boy, which subverts an already subversive Cruel Story of Youth, looks more interesting to me.
