Forest Whitaker as Nick Nolte sounds kind of awesome.

I thought Nick Nolte was playing Forest Whitaker. Judging by the cover, they did a damn fine job with makeup.

Madeline Zima... :-k So that must be who Travolta thought he was introducing at the Oscars.

Fox's new steelbook designs: Good in theory, D+ (being generous) in realization:

I bought this DVD today and noticed that aside from the cover being hideous they also misspelled Reubens's name. The following year, the company (Starmaker II) released a 2 DVD set of 4 episodes of the series with a new cover design and they repeated the same mistake. That's a pretty rare degree of incompetence in cover design.

Lainie Kazan's name is misspelled, too!

Good lord, you're right, on that image at least. On the actual DVD cover I have it'd been fixed.

Speaking of typos, can anyone who bought the blu-ray of Q: The Winged Serpent confirm that Shout Factory actually sent it into print with the phrase "It's name is" in the tagline?

That's how it was on the original one-sheet.

Yeah, I've seen it on several posters and elsewhere and find it strange that everyone involved would consistently maintain a glaring use of the wrong word, especially nowadays when they could just fix it in Photoshop.

They probably didn't want upset anyone who'd freak over the slightest alteration. Like trying to maintain some form of nostalgic memory.

But that's just about the only cover for that film, isn't it?

Yeah, it was pretty much the only thing they could work with to sell it.

"Hey it's Jean Claude Van Damme and there's some wacky people behind him. Uh-oh!"

Dennis Haysbert looks like he just stepped out of an AllState Commercial to get in the cover for this film

Swedish DVD of La Règle du jeu. The text says (in Swedish):

Each year, TSPDT* make a bundled list of the
best films of all time with more than 2000 critics.
Over 9000 films are involded.
This is the masterpiece ranked #3.

The picture itself isn't necessairly bad, but the entire cover is so incredibly pathetic with the text. It screams "Buy me!" like no other DVD I've ever seen.

Gee, I just can't imagine what other "American"-in-the-title work Dunham is trying to associate with here with those character designs

While the two girls on the sides are looking at the creep with bad makeup outside the window, the girl in the center is rightly more concerned with the guy standing in front of them taking a picture.

And I thought my Ordinary People edition was in poor taste! There's one for Ragtime too, just amazing work all around by Paramount a few years ago. Hard to believe they gave up on DVDs shortly thereafter

Oh yeah, I've seen those covers. Obvious gimmick to attract 80's kids.

If you've never owned one of these editions, they came with CDs. What music best accompanies a rape?
- Includes Limited Edition CD with music by a-ha, Echo & The Bunnymen, INXS and Erasure
Like, did someone from Paramount do this as a joke and it accidentally happened?
