The entire Ultraman catalog has been licensed by Mill Creek. Blu-rays of the complete season sets of Ultra Q (1966) and Ultraman (1966-1967) are coming in October.

Marie Antoinette is getting a real pressed Blu-ray from Mill Creek, as part of a double feature with the similarly relegated to BD-R Little Women

Re: Mill Creek
Marie Antoinette is one of my favorite films of the century (no, really) but I've got serious misgivings about this weird package. In audio/video terms, if it shares a disc with another film, is it really likely to be an upgrade even though it's pressed? And I know Mill Creek's reputation isn't the best. But I suppose it won't be very expensive to find out.

Re: Mill Creek
I'm happy it'll be in an affordable package at least. I don't have the current release because the price + poor review on BR soured me.

Re: Mill Creek
Turns out they changed Heroes and Eddie Macon's Run to separate releases coming out 4/7/20.
Also coming out 4/7/20 are:
All the Pretty Horses (2000)
Trapped (2002) (Previously released as a DF and in a 6-film set)

Was All the Pretty Horses licensed from Sony or Miramax?

Re: Mill Creek
Should be Sony. Columbia handed U.S. theatrical distribution over to Miramax (who had a piece of the film due to Thornton's Sling Blade contract), officially because their schedule was too crowded but possibly just because they were tired of fighting with Thornton over the final cut. They held on to the home video rights.

And more Andy Sidaris:

Re: Mill Creek
Cordura was rereleased on DVD in a cropped version when Sony did away with their flippers, so that’s nice at least

Re: Mill Creek
I'm sick of waiting, and Newsradio's Mill Creek DVD set is $22 on Amazon, but I've read some pretty rough reviews of this "complete" box set. Does anyone have it who can attest to the warnings, or encourage what seems like the greatest deal of all time?

Re: Mill Creek
My understanding is that the prior set only included a censored version of the "penis" episode whereas this one omits that episode entirely. That alone would be a dealbreaker for me

Re: Mill Creek
Yeah, I feel like I could find a copy of that episode online though (or buy the third season separately for like five bucks, which has it tacked on the end) and paying roughly $2/season seems like a no-brainer unless the set itself is prone to defective discs or horrendous image quality.

Re: Mill Creek
Supposedly the image quality is worse than the previous set, though I don't own it to confirm

Re: Mill Creek
The Sony discs all have that rosé wine/creamsicle haze that was de rigueur in the '90s. Otherwise, they're more affordable on a season-by-season basis than the Mill Creek collection as a whole. Besides, who in their right mind would want Season 5?

Re: Mill Creek
The Mill Creek set crams more episodes per disc, the quality is def going to be worse. And I don’t think they include the commentaries

Re: Mill Creek
To be fair, the original Sony complete series was packaged in a spindle! I’d buy only individual seasons released by Sony. All four (seasons one and two are one set) came with slipboxes encasing slimpacks, if you’re visually trying to confirm you’re picking up the right sets

Thanks, I actually just did exactly that from various eBay sellers! Glad to know it’s the right call
Still, if a blu ray set is announced Monday I’ll preorder immediately

Yeah, of all the 90's networks sitcoms, Newsradio is a definite favorite, so if it ever comes to Blu, I'd buy it in a heartbeat (although I'd keep the DVDs if a potential Blu set omitted the fantastic commentary tracks).therewillbeblus wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2020 8:36 pmStill, if a blu ray set is announced Monday I’ll preorder immediately
