Yes you can use multiple codes on the same orderBilly Beta wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 7:31 amQuick question - I've got the Criterion Channel $10 voucher through email yesterday. But I've also got a $10 voucher for when my
Citizen Kane disc had to be replaced. Can I use both on the Criterion website when the flash sale happens?

I guess I’m not that loyal a Criterion Store shopper — I didn’t get one.
(Though I did get a coupon last week as a Criterion Channel subscriber.)

Didn’t get any either and haven’t missed a sale in ten years - maybe it’s random

Re: Criterion Collection Store
Did Criterion raise the free shipping threshold to $75 for this sale? I could have sworn that up until noon the shipping was $50.

I thought the theshold was $100, so I placed my two orders accordingly.

Re: Criterion Collection Store
I checked the FAQ and the threshold in general is now $75.
Also a bit confusing that they show the prices at checkout when you are selecting shipping options. (The discount is applied, but for a second, I was like "why am I still getting charged?")

Re: Criterion Collection Store
Shipping is more like a $50 "threshold", give or take, as it's not the 50% off sale prices that are used to hit the threshold, but rather Criterion's regular discounted selling price (or possibly the list price). So I've read, and only partly digested…

That seems to have changed this sale. At least, I was charged shipping for a $74.91 order.

Noted. I usually have refund credits and gift certificates to lighten my burden so tend to aim towards around $100 per order, after any additional discounts have been applied.

It's been $75 for at least the prior two sales.hearthesilence wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 1:30 pmI checked the FAQ and the threshold in general is now $75.

I was confused as well. I thought maybe they raised it to $100 dollars as I bought 4 films. But once I went to the final step it showed free shipping

Exactly. It's now a $75 threshold and it applies to the discounted (50% off) price. I have three UHDs in my cart at it says "Spend $0.09 more to qualify for free shipping**" I wish I could just add a postcard. I'll wait until the next sale.soundchaser wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 2:33 pmThat seems to have changed this sale. At least, I was charged shipping for a $74.91 order.

brutal, I was literally hoping to grab exactly Trainspotting, The Roaring Twenties, and Days of Heaven. and indeed, $74.91 is that exact total...Matt wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 3:01 pmExactly. Re: Criterion Collection Store
Due to the way my funds worked out, I had to place two separate orders on different cards. I couldn't combine into a single $100 order, alas, and the revised threshold meant that I'd have gone over my spending limit on one of the orders if I'd stuck to my original plan of three discs per order, so I went ah fuck it and dropped one of three titles from my second order as the shipping was quite a bit less than the amount I'd have had to spend to hit $75. I wish they'd communicated the fact of the revised threshold and it applying to the discounted price upfront. Would have saved some confusion and frustration.
What did everyone else go for? I got One False Move 4k, Days of Heaven 4k, Polyester, My Man Godfrey and The Ballad of Gregorio Cortez.

I went for Days of Heaven 4K, Being There, The Roaring Twenties 4K, The Red Balloon and Other Stories, Lone Star 4K, Trainspotting 4K, Mudbound, McCabe & Mrs. Miller 4K and The Daytrippers. It helped that I had an unused $50 reward voucher from last year and a $10 gift code.

If you are a few dollars short of free shipping, It could be worth it to pick up a DVD that is unlikely to get upgraded to Blu-ray, like Patriotism, which is $12.

Re: Criterion Collection Store
Another one i'd recommend is Martha Graham if you have any interest in dance - it was actually shot in 35mm and the OCN has been well-preserved, so it kind of pains me to say it won't be upgraded, but given how little I hear about this release, I can't imagine Criterion thinking it would be a profitable upgrade. (FWIW, all of the contents were originally produced for public television, so at minimum you could say it at least looks better than a standard-def TV broadcast.)

Re: Criterion Collection Store
have already used Patriotism for that exact purpose in the past! really incredible edition though, some serious bang for your buck at that price.
I totally remembered to grab A Special Day which I watched for the first time in our 1970s project, seriously incredible film and I'd be surprised (but would gladly buy it a second time, out of surprised) if it got the UHD bump. for some reason I thought I already grabbed this in the November sale but didn't. got a $50 voucher that I could use for The Red Balloon or another boxset, but I'll keep it for the next sale.

Re: Criterion Collection Store
Do Criterion send everything you order out together? Does this apply even to items that are "On back-order"? I would be sending to a reshipper so do not want multiple parcels.

I forgot to account for being in the wrong timezone, and the prices changed back to normal during the checkout process. That'll learn me!

I trust you won't be disappointed, A Special Day is a really magnificent film and both leads put on some of their very best acting ever. after my rewatch with the disc I plan to add a little more about it in its dedicated thread, but many other members are big fans too!

Re: Criterion Collection Store
Ryannichols7, thank you so much again for recommending A Special Day. I just watched it and had an absolute blast. Fantastic performances, stunning cinematography - this was a pure joy to watch! The subject is too, of course, more relevant than ever. I was also happily surprised to see John Vernon in the role of the fascist husband - he was born to play this role.ryannichols7 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 7:59 pmI trust you won't be disappointed, A Special Day is a really magnificent film and both leads put on some of their very best acting ever. after my rewatch with the disc I plan to add a little more about it in its dedicated thread, but many other members are big fans too!
