Dude, I went to high school with someone like you. Not that that's a bad thing.

Are you implying that this thread has somehow gone downhill? Let's not forget it's a thread devoted to complaining about cover art.

I think we've been tunnelling for eight pages at least. Take that, Jules Verne!

The cover is the cover. Does anybody have anything to say about the movie?

No, we judge a movie by it's cover.

We got a new cover for Viridiana and convinced a major DVD company to favor its consumers. So can we just move on and talk about Spielberg or something.

I sent JM a note about how many people complained and he hasn't responded. This was a while ago. Is JM answering anyone's emails?

It appears that the useful role of this thread is over. There was an unprecedented level of concern about the original cover design. Criterion changed it, whether due to our protests or some other reason we will never know. It is most unlikely they will change it again. Hence posts on this thread now have only a therapeutic value of expressing our individual joy or frustration at the change. That can be entertaining, but opportunities for entertainment abound elsewhere on this forum as well. Perhaps the moderator should consider closing this one.

How long did you guys bitch until they changed the Viridiana cover? I wasn't familiar with that film so I just let it go, but Malkovich is a silly film and could work with a marionette cover like all the clues have been.

I love that cover so much and if I were to buy the movie I'd probably slip that over the actual cover.

Might have been all right without so much headroom.

It still looks like they pasted Viridiana's picture over a dirty copy of their King of Kings artwork!
