It's a good thing somebody else did in the quoted post, then.Bressonaire wrote:The Swedish flag is undeniably a Bergman reference, but I'm not sure how the moon plays into it.Took me a while, but the moon one is Bergman. He was often referred to as "dämonregissören", roughly translated as "the daemon-director". And he had demons in his signature.
dame-moon -> daemon
And the flag is Swedish then.

I applaud the previous poster, but I find it a bit of a stretch. And the motion marks above the moon are still there....

Joking aside, I hope you're right about the Borzage. It'd be good to see it restored from its current mucky PD state.

Those are “shine” lines. So does Moon + shine or light mean anything?Bressonaire wrote:I applaud the previous poster, but I find it a bit of a stretch. And the motion marks above the moon are still there....

A recent "Best Picture" Oscar winner maybe?CSM126 wrote:Those are “shine” lines. So does Moon + shine or light mean anything?Bressonaire wrote:I applaud the previous poster, but I find it a bit of a stretch. And the motion marks above the moon are still there....

Re: 2018 New Years Drawing
Moonlight is with Lionsgate, no? Lionsgate is (apparently) difficult to license anything from. I can only imagine that the odds of getting a Best Picture winner out of them are zero.Roger Ryan wrote:A recent "Best Picture" Oscar winner maybe?CSM126 wrote:Those are “shine” lines. And how would you draw upward-motion lines? I don't think you can tell a difference. I'm betting its Moonrise. Moonlight is much more unlikely, IMO.

Didn’t Barry Jenkin’s visit Criterion’s closet?
Despite being an Oscar winner-I can’t imagine any studio caring more than Criterion about a film like Moonlight. Still-I don’t think that’s the clue.

The “stream” spilling out of the truck made me think of the milk tanker in Three Kings. However, the truck not being a tanker here makes me less confident.

Yes, the clue is plainly for the film Lionsgate just released on UHD two weeks ago, they must be desperate to license it out for an immediately inferior release

Three Kings is Warner Bros and hasn’t had a release since 2010. Unless you’re referring to Moonlight.

Or could it mean that they're bringing back Swedish Fish Oreos?

For fuck's sake. If you were going to indicate a moon rising, you'd show it coming over the goddamn horizon, wouldn't you? Not fully in the sky, i.e. already risen?Bressonaire wrote:Those are “shine” lines.

Honestly, the lengths people will go to just to justify their off-the-wall theories in the microscopic hope that their guess will be correct so they can say "called it!".
