Is that the kid-friendly version where Alain Delon is replaced by a cartoon kangaroo?

If so, I'm in!

I think if they do ever get around to properly restoring Emigrant and New Land it would surely have a sizeable and much touted rerelease in cinemas by Janus. They're not quite in the state of Apu but the versions widely available now are all pretty sad in their state (TCM still airs the dubbed, cut-down version, for instance).

I think they're just waiting for HistoryProf to request it for the 100th time. They've gotta make him feel like he's earned it!

Except for the fact that the rights to The Emigrants/New Land are owned by Warners, so it would not be toured by Janus. However it is likely that it will come restored in house by Criterion as part of the Warners deal, similar Day for Night.

Hopefully each title would be a two disc release, with one disc with the US dubbed shorter version, and the other disc with the original language original length. The dubs, as I recall are superb and definitely worth keeping around.

This delay better be worth it.

Also, do we think that A Room With a View means that Howard's End might come back?

Other than BLIND CHANCE, kind of a snoozy month.

Excited for Breaker Morant, one of my favorites. Haven't seen Mister Johnson. Not the most exciting month however.

I mean, yes, but I find these titles exciting given other than A Room With a View we had no idea any of these were coming.

There is a new interview with James Ivory listed on the bonus, but I'm not sure of his current level of involvement with the company that bears his name. Others probably will know for sure.

Overall I'm a bit disappointed this month because only 2/6 have commentaries and it seems they are holding out on some of the bigger titles we know are eventually coming. I will probably pick up Moonrise Kingdom and Blind Chance.

We knew Breaker Morant was likely coming eventually. It's been on the Hulu channel for a few years now.

Blind Chance will be a blind buy in an otherwise lackluster month (although the Beresford titles will certainly garner a viewing at some point).

Criterion better have saved a few secret weapon titles for the end of the year.
