Was going to update local Borders availability status (must be down to 5 local copies by now!), but seems they've dropped the title from their website. Happy hunting.

The Borders in the Loop (at State and Randolph) had a Blu-ray copy - in a plastic case - this afternoon. I already have a copy, and I didn't want just any asshole picking it up, so I hid it. If you want to go pick it up, it's behind several copies of The Tale of Despereaux in the Blu-ray section on the third floor.

I swear this is not a joke. If you were there looking for it after about 5:15 this afternoon and didn't find it, well, I'm sorry. But I could have bought it myself, and you wouldn't be any worse off than you are now.
I'm headed that way tomorrow so I'll give it a go because it's a funny thing to do. I was planning to just hold onto my old school version (pre rerelease) but I suppose it doesn't get more serendipitous than this. The Tale of Despereaux...that's funny. If it works out...Thanks!

This is brilliant! I can just see this opening up a whole new dimension of scavenger hunt interactivity on criterionforum.org, particularly when all those StudioCanal titles start to get scarce.

If anyone in upstate NY knows where to find Quai des Orfevres would you kindly hide it behind some Dora the Explorer dvds, I'd be much obliged :D

Swo and I are going to spend the weekend together hiding the StudioCanal titles in various suburban B&M stores throughout the Wasatch front.

Dudes, if you want foolproof camouflage, hide them behind copies of Border Radio

The first criterionforum.org scavenger hunt was a success! After a coupon it turned out to be quite a deal at 27 dollars. Thanks a lot to Brian C.!

And could someone hide another in the central PA area?
Oh, hell ... who else around here would want it?

Here's something I need cleared up:

Did the standard dvd Third Man reissue ever get shipped in an amaray case version or was there only the digipack?

Amazon was shipping them in Amarays for about the last three weeks of availability.

Whoa so I assume the amaray version is more rare?

Also I'm still trying to hunt down the standard version of this brand new either digipack or amaray if anyone here lives in Washington state and spots one anywhere drop me a PM please!

I interneted this up for you: http://cgi.ebay.com/Brand-New-Sealed-TH ... 53df0248db
That's actually cheaper than B&N, even when it was in print.

For what it's worth, the digipack is a nice one, not the flimsy blu-ray type.

Darn yeah I'm sort of getting the collector's bug here and wanting to get both but I don't wanna shell close to 70 bucks for two of the same movie I found a site that carries the amaray version. On the other hand I owned the digipack twice both times the slipcase had been in lousy shape.
